Christmas Letter

Jingle all the way….
Well this year really has been a great for the Boom family. About this time last year, Martijn and I were married and more than happy. Before we were married Martijn was told that marriage is hard and you fight. We look at each other and ask “when is it going to get hard?” This year has been filled with many expensive and many questions. But I have my top three favorite.
Top 3 questions we have been asked:
     3. Are you happy together?
     2. How’s your Dutch?
     1. Are you moving back to the States?
Yes, we are more then happy together. My Dutch is at a stand still so to say. I understand a lot of Dutch but uneasy to speak. German seems to mix me up. And sadly, we are not moving to the States. We are planning on living here for the long haul. Which I am happy about. I love living in Europe. Plus the health care and school are better.
Martijn has been a busy bee his year. He is working for a company called Colorglo. The company is from the States and they provide products, supplies and technology skills. Those things proved interior repairs from leather couches to dashboards in the car. Martijn has replaced floors and put up wallpaper. He travels all over the Netherlands and Belgium. In our Branch he is busy with being Elders Quorum President. He still loves soccer and will watch a game when he gets the change. He is a HUGE support for me.
Susannah has been busy trying to be a good housewife and support for Martijn. She will go with Martijn on some of this jobs and learning the art of Colorglo. She has enjoying travel all over the Netherlands. Dutch has been a big change, It seems like German and English mixed together but with a lot of flem. She is enjoying her new family, with three more sisters. Yes, girls day are a must!!! Also enjoying her calling as the 1st counselor in Primary. She loves being able to cook and create a beautiful home for her small family.
Martijn and Susannah are super excited for the baby that is coming June 11th. We still don’t know the gender of the baby but the bets are going. This year has been a  great for us, and truly we feel truly blessed being married. And the eternal blessings that it brings.
We wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!!

Love,
Martijn, Susannah & Baby Boom
